Playing Beethoven

Lillian has been fascinated by the idea that Beethoven could play the piano even while deaf. She figured out how to have a similar experience. She set the digital piano to record, and then played “Ode to Joy” with the volume turned all the way down. Then, she could replay to see how well she had played.

Gum nut studies

Lillian’s drawings are becoming more sophisticated.  In the last few days she has been doing botanical illustrations – gum nut drawings to be precise.

When I pointed out that the nuts were large compared with the leaves (usually eucalyptus leaves are much larger) she looked at me as if I really just didn’t get it.  Its just a drawing, she pointed out.
