Lillian does a lot of “decorating” at child care. This involves taking a sheet of paper (or something similar) and drawing, sometimes figuratively and sometimes abstractly; gluing things such as ice cream sticks, beads or string; profusely applying sticky tape; and whatever else takes her fancy.
On a recent trip, Daddy happened to be taken to an exhibit of glass works by Dale Chihuly at a museum in San Francisco. He brought back a book with 365 glossy pages of vivid colour pictures:
This is now Lillian’s favourite book. For the first 50 pages or so she’d say “WOW!” as she turned each page. Now her favourite comment on each page is “Can we build that?”
