Lillian is taking a spontaneous interest in writing. We haven’t been instructing her; rather she seems to be just copying what people are doing around her – down to holding a pen in a correct “adult” fashion.
A few days ago she took a birthday card which had the words “Special Birthday Wishes” on it, and was picking letters and copying them out on the card.
Of course she is still only taking early, clumsy steps. Here’s today’s effort: writing her favorite word, “Lillian”:
A mixture of letter sizes, upper and lower case; she starts writing “forwards” from the middle of the page, but then when she runs out of room goes back to the middle and continues backwards from there. On the bright side, the N is now oriented correctly.
