I found out today that Lillian is much younger than most kids in her child care class. She’s three and a half, but all the others are at least four; many are four and a half. Fortunately she’s tall for her age, and quite tomboyish, so she copes well, according to her carer, Effie.
This evening she decided, for whatever reason, that she wanted to jump on the mini-trampoline in the kitchen, not in its usual location upstairs in the living room. So she lifted and rolled and pushed and pulled the mini-trampoline, which is bigger than she is, down the stairs, around the dining table etc., and into the middle of the kitchen floor. She didn’t ask for permission or for help – except when she wanted me to move a chair out of the way.
