Each day I drop her off at the Queensberry Child Care Centre on the way to work, and pick her up on the way back. She rides in the child-carrier-backpack.
On the way there, as usual at the lights at Royal Parade we met the school road crossing attendant. He’s been there every morning during school term for the past couple of years now. He has watched her grow, and become quite friendly. She calls him the Green Man, and usually she shows him whatever she’s got in her hand, or tells him something. This morning, she took him a wrapped Chinese green lolly.
On the way back, most of the way she held her hands out wide and sang loudly, just made up song-type noises. We attracted quite a bit of amused attention.
